FAQs

This self-assessment was designed by Sol Smith using established research and clinical frameworks, adapted to be approachable for adults — especially those who may be late-diagnosed or just beginning to explore how ADHD traits show up in daily life.

The questions are based on diagnostic criteria from the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition) and incorporate guidance from trusted sources including:

This tool isn’t meant to replace a professional evaluation. It’s here to help you reflect, notice patterns, and start conversations that matter.

No. This assessment is a self-awareness tool designed to help you reflect on patterns commonly associated with Autism and how they may show up in your life. It’s meant to offer clarity, language, and validation — especially for people who may have gone undiagnosed or misdiagnosed for years. If something resonates deeply, that’s a sign you may want to explore further.

If something resonates deeply, that’s a meaningful signal, not a definitive answer. You may want to explore further with a licensed mental health provider or medical professional who specializes in adult Autism. Whether or not you pursue a formal diagnosis, understanding yourself more fully is a valuable next step.

No, I do not offer medical assessments or diagnoses.
I’m a coach who works specifically with neurodivergent professionals and the leaders who support them. My role is to help you better understand how your brain works, identify tools that fit your needs, and build a more sustainable path forward, but I am not a medical professional or licensed therapist.

If you're interested in pursuing a formal diagnosis, I recommend connecting with a licensed psychologist, psychiatrist, or neurodivergent-affirming provider who specializes in adult assessments. I’m happy to support you in navigating that journey if you choose to take it.

That’s completely okay. Some people want language and clarity. Others want official answers. There’s no right path. You can use these insights to build self-awareness, adjust your routines, or seek support , whether or not you pursue a diagnosis.

Yes, just like a high score doesn’t automatically mean you have Autism, a low score doesn’t rule it out.
This tool reflects how traits show up for you right now, based on how you responded in this moment. It can’t fully capture your history, masking behaviors, environment, or how you’ve adapted over time. If your results don’t match your lived experience, that doesn’t make your questions any less valid, it may just mean there’s more to explore. You know yourself better than any quiz ever could. This is a starting point, not a final answer.
